“Evidently, the training’s not appropriate for what happened,” according to Woodfolk, who recently filed a civil complaint against the City of Kent and the Kent Police Department seeking unspecified damages.  “They shouldn’t have released the dog when the dog didn’t know who it was chasing,” Woodfolk told KIRO 7.  

His lawyer, Donna B. Gibson of Auburn added “there are different ways that dogs can be trained to apprehend suspects rather than just chomp, chomp and hold.”
